Jon Dirks loves to paint. It’s as simple as that. He gains immeasurable satisfaction seeing a painting take shape as he applies the paint; as the shapes and colors and lines come together to form a harmonious composition.

Jon’s body of work is varied in technique and style as well as in subject matter. He paints with a brush much of the time but enjoys doing landscapes with painting knives as well. His realistic yet painterly style of landscapes provide the viewer with a rendition of a scene that is both accurate and yet reflects his own interpretation and his still life paintings are full of detail.
